So, the Cardinals enter conclave today, to pick a new Pope. The frontrunner's Joseph Ratzinger, German. Not sure how I feel about that. He is the highest ranking church official, and was very close to Pope John Paul, but. He's very orthodox. Then again, he's brilliant, ten languages, man. Ten. Either way, I doubt my everyday life will be much impacted. Still, I hope conclave isn't drawn out too long.
Cincinnat's not that bad, really. Went down, outside, for breakfast and coffee. Not warm, kind of cloudy. Can I have summer now please? High's like 80, though, so. It'll be ok for a little while, at least. Up early, but only really 'cause I'm here and not...well, you get used to the city you're in, first morning in a new one's disorienting. These two game, two-night series, though, you don't know where the hell you are half the time. But after St. Louis, we don't have another of those 'til Pittsburgh in May, and they were nice enough to give us off days on both sides of that one. Really...helps the travel time.
Woody today, I ain't worried. Team's playin' solid, so. Reds already 5-1 at home, we gotta shake 'em a little, and the St. Louis series is a big one, as big as they can be this early, so let's keep up the streak, huh? Had a real good weekend in Pittsburgh, two out of three on the road, we'll always take that. And for the record, I did get fined. Who put Rem in charge of kangaroo court, anyway?
Quiet around here, this early. I like bein' up, really. Even got out Cinci's scouting report, goin' over it for tomorrow. They train in Florida, so we haven't seen any of their guys this year yet. The reports are a little overrated, really. There are pitches everybody can hit and pitches nobody can, so you just keep your ratio of bad ones to good down and you'll get anybody out. Lot of big games this week. Tonight's on Monday Night Baseball on ESPN, then Wednesday Night Baseball on the deuce, back to ESPN on Thursday. Oh, and WGN on Friday. Guess which game's not on TV? Guess which game I'm pitching? 's ok, I should be up Sunday at home against the Bucs, and that's a WGN game.
Think I've gone on long enough. Back to the books. Mikey's icon in honor of the fact that he's in charge of these scouting reports.
